October Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the Tensaw Theater at Five Rivers Delta Resource Center.  Nancy Milford, MBCKC member, will be the host of this months meeting.  While some people like to paddle in races, others like a slower pace.  Nancy will talk about some of the things that you can see, learn, and experience by slowing down some.  Her theme is "Dinner with the Birds"

Maggie Pyle will do the mini-presentation this month.  Maggie recently participated in the 16th Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival, entering three races.  In Atlanta, there were over 60 teams competing from collegiate, corporate, industry, banking, retail, and breast cancer survivors teams. On Saturday, September 24th, 32 teams participated in dragon boat races on the Mississippi River at Memphis. Maggie will have photos she took of the Atlanta Dragon Boat Festival and share insights into the 2,000 year-old sport of dragon boat racing which is currently the 8th fastest growing sport in the world.

Tracy Lannie will have raffle tickets for a Bending Branches Navigator Paddle. Drawing to be held on October 8th at Paddle Bayou La Batre.  Tickets are $3 each.  For more information on this paddle: http://www.bendingbranches.com/navigator      Tracy will also have forms for Paddle Bayou La Batre; this will be your last chance to register via hand-written form.  The registration fee is $25.
