February Meeting/Paddle
Due to Mardi Gras day activities, the February meeting of MBCKC has been cancelled.
However, I will be having a 'Meeting-Paddle' on Mardi Gras day (Feb 5). We can gather and chat about past paddles and discuss the opportunity for many beautiful spring paddles and kayaking activites.

Place: Soldier Creek (off county rd 97, between Elberta and Lillian)
Host: Harriet Ingraham 604.3741 cell; 928.4568 home
Time: meet at the intersection of Hwy 98 and County Road 95 between Elberta and Lillian, at 10:45 a.m.
Notes:This is a 6 mile paddle, the pace will be as appropriate for the kind of boats people are paddling. Bring a snack or lunch and proper clothing along with normal paddle gear.

Place: Byrnes Lake to and/or around Gravine Island
Meeting time/place: 10:00 am - Brunos parking lot, Spanish Fort if you need to follow us - otherwise meet at the launch at 10:15
Put-in at Byrnes Lake county launch 9 miles north of Spanish Fort on Hwy 225
Fritz and I will be at Bruno's parking lot in Spanish Fort at 9:45.

******PLEASE CALL IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND!
Notes: A paddle we most frequently do on a full moon - will be nice to see it on a winter day. Depending on weather conditions and paddle skills, the paddle could be 5 miles or it could be 8 miles. The pace will be moderate.

Bring a snack or your lunch. We will take out on Byrnes Lake sand spit to stretch and have a snack. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Byrnes Lake will be flat water, but sometimes the Tensaw can flow quite briskly and have wave action, so be prepared depending on the conditions
