February Meeting
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the Tensaw Theater at Five Rivers Delta Resource Center. This is always a nice time of the year for the club because we welcome back many of our out-of-state members that spend the winter season in Southern Alabama. This month, MBCKC welcomes Ron and Suzie Smith of Black Parrot Paddling L.L.C. back into our neighborhood. Ron will be our guest speaker and will present on "Paddling Lake Huron's North Channel". Lake Huron is the second largest of the 5 Great Lakes and has the largest shoreline. For more fast facts about Lake Huron, see:

January's Meeting
January's meeting was well attended. Michael Pornovets of Everything Kayk in Biloxi, MS spoke briefly about the Wounded Warrior Project. As Michael sends updates on how we can volunteer to help with the project, they will be posted. Thanks to Bob Strader for the mini slide-show presentation of his Murder Creek Paddle.
Also, MBCKC welcomed back club member, Paul Taylor, who serves in the U.S. Army National Guard and recently returned from a tour in Iraq. Paul presented the U.S. Flag which he flew over Balad, Iraq to Five Rivers Delta Resource Center. Hank Burch accepted the flag during the ceremony on behalf of Five Rivers.
