Request for volunteers:
To all: Able-bodied volunteers are need on Wednesday, June 30 for an ongoing wetlands-restoration project at Weeks Bay Reserve. The area was burned and partially dozed this Spring to help knock out non-native invasive plant species (popcorn trees, Chinese privet, Japanese climbing fern). Manual labor is now needed to continue with eradication of destructive non-native vegetation. If you can help, please email me at au90grad@hotmail.com or Eric Brunden, project coordinator, at
ebrunden@dcnr.state.al.us Thanks, Allison Thompson-Graves

[Editor's note: May I suggest that we wear our club t-shirts and/or caps as we help with this important community effort? We want wonderful organizations like the Weeks Bay Reserve to know that the MBCAKC appreciates and supports their work.]
