Alison Graves writes us:
I wanted to let you know that I just returned from spending the day at Splinter Hill Bog and other unnammed bogs in the Tensaw watershed around Perdido (near Stockton, not the one at the beach) and the pitcher plants are absolutely breathtaking. Also blooming are Vaccinia spp., hat pins, bladderworts, and many others. The dewthreads have a few buds and should be blooming by next week, I think. Many of these bogs can be seen from the roadside. Also blooming in the area are our native lupines, which are spectacular.
