Greetings from your oft-absent webmistress, Julie. I am currently in the wilds of west Texas. A lot has been going on in my absence, and is reported below. I promise to get home and stay home soon, so club e-mails will go out more regularly. In the meantime, remember to check this website for news updates.

Our webmaster, Dave, may also be unavailable for a few days. Accordingly, anybody who wants anything posted to the website during the next couple of weeks (including paddle announcements, want ads, and trip reports) should send same to Bruce at bzboater@earthlink.net, as well as to Dave and to me (Julie) at jrobber@worldnet.att.net. Bruce will handle the website whenever Dave and I are absent during the next few weeks.

Here is the latest news:

Meeting Program
Thanks to arrangements made by Brint Adams and Harriet Ingraham, we anticipate a very significant and informative program at our December meeting. The public liaisons for Baldwin County's initiative to add and upgrade county water accesses, Cara Stallman and Stan Arbaczauskas, will give the MBCAKC a presentation on the county's plans. Cara and Stan are enthusiastic about hearing our input as paddlers and members of the community on what we would like to see happen and how we would like to use water accesses. This is our opportunity to talk to county policymakers about soft put-ins, encroachment by private landowners, and whatever else concerns us. We are very grateful to the County for offering this program, so mark your calendars and come to the meeting on Tuesday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m., at the Fairhope Yacht Club.
