Easter Service Sunrise Paddle
Gene writes us as follows:

Several of the Eastern shore area churches participate in an Easter Sunrise Service near the foot of the Fairhope Municipal Pier each Easter Sunday. The service this year will begin at 6:30 AM. I have enjoyed the services in the past and expect to do so again this year. The public is invited and people are encouraged to bring a friend. I plan to bring my kayak and view the services from the water and you are welcomed to share the experience.

The put-in for me will be at Fairhope Yacht Club. There are several other alternative put-ins near by, including the north part of the Fairhope Municipal Beach. For me, I would just feel somehow awkward putting in too close to the service. The rendezvous will be near the north side of the foot of the Fairhope Municipal Pier, near the shore, around 6:20AM., to be in time for the opening hymns. The arrival time is not crucial. I plan to depart FYC around 5:15. Come and go as you choose.

I am not sure of how well we will be able to hear the sermon, but we should be able to hear the music and hymns. I have always thought that the setting should be inspirational. This is not a highly organized paddle, do it your way. Hope to see you there.

Date: Easter Sunday, April 20
Put-In: FYC or your choice
Rendezvous: 6:20AM near the north side of the foot of the Fairhope Municipal Pier
