Bob's Surprise Paddle and the Pelican Point Triathlon updates:

Gene writes us:

1. Bob's Surprise is to meet at Busby's Fish Camp, on Hwy 225, 1-mile north of Sp. Fort, at 6:00 p.m., this Wednesday, June 20. Bring a flashlight. I believe that the boat launch fee is $3.00 and is well worth it to me knowing that my car is safe.

2. Pelican Point Triathlon update. This is becoming a huge event. There are already 176
participants and well over 200 are expected! They have asked for our assistance from everything from ground support to kayak/canoe safety boats. The Daphne Search and Rescue folks should also be out there to provide motor boat support as well as emergency services. Helpers should be at Pelican Point (mouth of Weeks Bay) by 6:20 a.m., Saturday, June 30 This would seem like a great activity for our members to support and I hope that a lot of us will be able to do so.
